Gopika Kamdar is an ASHA-certified speech and language pathologist (SLP) licensed through the State of California Speech Pathology and Audiology Board. Gopika has practiced for over a decade in multidisciplinary clinics and hospitals, including acute and outpatient rehabilitation.

Gopika’s practice focuses on the multidimensional understanding of underlying causes of speech and language disorders, and coordinated multidisciplinary treatments to address those causes. Her areas of expertise include receptive and expressive language disorders, aphasia, anomia/word finding challenges, motor speech and articulation disorders, language-based learning disorders, language processing and auditory memory difficulties, feeding and swallowing difficulties, and social and cognitive communication challenges (e.g., memory, reasoning, executive functioning, and functional language). 

Gopika supervises clinical interns and fellows, mentors developing clinicians, and provides inservice to family and parent groups, clinics, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists about communication, speech, language, feeding, and social interaction. She is also a content writer and expert advisor to technology startups with a primary focus on development and parent coaching.

Gopika received her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Northwestern University, where she pursued the neurology track of speech and language disorders in pediatric and adult populations. Her post-baccalaureate was in Communication Disorders and Sciences at the University of Redlands, and she received a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology from the University of California, Davis.
