Educational Therapy

Educational therapy refers to the specialized practice of engaging students one-on-one in order to address learning and/or neurodevelopmental differences. Our educational therapists are trained to thoroughly understand an individual’s learning differences and focus on both the cognitive and emotional factors involved in learning. Educational therapy includes conducting academic assessments, interpreting psycho-educational and neuropsychological assessments, and utilizing specific intervention and remediation programs to promote learning. Our educational therapists also act as a case manager for their clients, often coordinating learning with teachers, neuropsychologists, and other professionals to best meet the needs of the student. Where appropriate, our educational specialists may advise on school advocacy as well including Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Accommodation Plans.

Our educational specialists are trained and credentialed in the following programs: Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, UFLI Foundations, Landmark Written Expression, Readers and LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling), Handwriting Without Tears, Bridges Math Program, and Cognitively Guided Instruction for Mathematics.

At The Integrated Clinic, Negeen Farida, Donia Torabian, Olivia Greene, Courtney Brenner, Dana Berlin, Grace Cruz, Ashley Schwartz, Lauren Teplin and Chelsea Simon provide educational therapy.
